Jungle Wildlife And Temples Of Cambodia 12-Days

DAY 1 PHNOM PENH ARRIVAL

Upon arrival in Phnom Penh international airport our guide and driver will provide transport to hotel for check in the rest of time free and relax on your own activities, meal on your own account, and Overnight hotel in Phnom Penh.

DAY 2 PHNOM PENH CITY TOUR (B,L)

This morning, visit the notorious Killing Fields "Choeung Ek" 15km southwest of Phnom Penh. This one is the site of brutal executions of more than 17,000 individuals, most of who first suffered through interrogations, torture and deprivation in Toul Sleng Prison during Pol Pot regime (From 1975–1979). Continue your visit to Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21 prison). This prison was a high school, and used as a prison by Pol Pot's security forces and became the largest center for detention and torture during the rule of the Khmer Rouge. 

After lunch visit Russian Market for some souvenirs, then continue the visit to Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866, and the Silver Pagoda, located within the grounds of the Royal Palace. The Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which is made up of 5,000 silver tiles.  Last visit today at Wat Phnom, an ancient pagoda on a hill, which marks the legendary founding place of the city.  Overnight at hotel in Phnom Penh.

DAY 3 PHNOM PENH - KRATIE (B,L)

After breakfast at hotel. Our driver and guide will overland transfer to Kratie by private car. The distance is around 120km, which spend around 2 to 3hours. On the way, we will be passing all the villages, rice fields, local markets, and rubber plantation. Upon arrival in Kratie, crossing by public ferry island to your home stay for check in.

Late afternoon, you will explore Koh Trong by bike following a narrow, concrete path goes around the island. The round trip around the island full of tropical fruit trees, traditional Cambodian buildings, smiling locals chilling around the house, domestic animals and tunes of beautiful butterflies. A truly nice experience to discover a Cambodia away from the temples. And Overnight homestay in Koh Trong.

DAY 4 KRATIE – MONDULKIRI TOURS (B,L)

Breakfast at hotel. Today, our driver and guide will pick you up for overland transfer to Sen Monorom Town (Mundolkiri Province). The distance is about 194km which takes around 3.5 hour of drive. Upon arrival in Mundolkiri, transfer to your hotel for check in.

Afternoon, we head to the ‘Coffee Plantation Resort’ for a delicious lunch on your own expense, after that you can walk around the plantation and see how coffee beans are grown. Then it on to the ‘Sea Forest’ (Forest view point) arguably the best view point in Mondulkiri province. There is time for one last stop at the Hill Tribe Cultural Center to watch the sunset, before we head back to town. Overnight at homestay in Mondulkiri.

DAY 5 MONDULKIRI TREKKING (B,L)

Day hiking on foot or on Elephant back crossing hills and its tropical timber in Phnong inhabited by minorities, who practice on dry ground rice cultivation. Lunch at the foot of a little-known waterfall and swimming. Then hike back to the Elephant point, and say good bye to the local guide and then transfer back to homestay, Overnight in Mondulkiri.

DAY 6 MONDULKIRI - RATANAKIRI TOURS (B,L)

Breakfast at hotel. We will continue our journey to Ratanakiri province. The distance is about 119km which takes around 3 hours of drive. Upon arrival in Ban Lung, capital of Ratanakiri, nicknamed "the Red City" because of the omnipresent late rite. Check in at hotel.

Afternoon, Then you will depart from hotel on a bumpy road to the waterfall of Teuk Cha Ong and return via Yeak Laom Lake, a perfectly round stretch of water, surrounded by forest, for a late afternoon swim. Then evening will enjoy the beautiful of panorama Sunset from the top of the mountain at Phnom Eysei Patamak (Phnom Svay) then go to your homestay and overnight.

DAY 7 RATANAKIRI - STEUNG TRENG (B,L)

Breakfast at hotel. We will leave Ratanakiri Province to another picturesque Mekong Bank, Stung Treng. We will take 3.5 hour of drive from Ratanakiri to Stung Treng province within 185km. Upon arrival, Transfer to Mekong Bird Resort for checks in and take a rest, 

Afternoon, start the tours with seeing the Mekong ‘s island flooded forest, birds and sunset watching on the river. Back to hotel and overnight.

DAY 8 STEUNG TRENG CITY - PREAH VIHEAR TEMPLE TOURS (B,L)

Breakfast at hotel, then you will leave Steung Treng straight a way to Preah Vihear Province. , Driving distance about 4hours with 250 km distance, upon arrival transfer to hotel for check-in. 

Afternoon, you will explore the mountaintop temple of Preah Vihear (UNESCO World Heritage Site) whichbuilt on the top of the mountain in 9^th century dedicated to Hindu religion, and Preah Vihear temple is the most spectacular setting of all the temples built during the six-centuries long Khmer empire, beside the temple you can explore local market and town. And overnight in Preah Vihear.

DAY 9 PREAH VIHEAR - KOH KER - BENG MEALEA - SIEM REAP (B,L)

Breakfast at hotel. We journey southwest from Preah Vihear to Koh Ker Temple, a 10th century capital abandoned in the remote north of Cambodia for more than a thousand years. We continue to the massive jungle temple of Beng Mealea, the size and scale of Angkor Wat but utterly swallowed by the jungle. We clamber about this titanic of temples that feels just like it would have when discovered by the first explorers. 

Continue the road to Siem Reap, transfer directly to your hotel for relax for the day. Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.

DAY 10 SIEM REAP CITY TOUR (B,L)

Breakfast at hotel, then start your tours by visit to the World Heritage Site; visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom which is famous for its series of colossal human faces carved in stone, the impressive Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Continue visit Ta Prohm. Ta Prohm is one of the area’s most beautiful temples, Ta Prohm has been left relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery. Its appeal lies in the fact that, unlike the other monuments of Angkor, it was abandoned and swallowed by the jungle, looking very much the ways most of the Angkor temples appeared when European explorers first stumbled upon them. 

Afternoon continue to seeing the architectural masterpiece of Angkor Wat. We stroll around this massive monument, exploring the many galleries with columns, libraries, pavilions, courtyards and ponds full of water reflecting the towering temple.

DAY 11 SIEM REAP CITY TOUR (B,L)

After breakfast at hotel, you will explore Preah Khan temple, built by the King Jayavarman VII and, like Ta Prohm, a place of towered enclosures and shoulder-hugging corridors then Neak Pean and  Banteay Srei, it is home to Angkor’s finest stone carvings and the birthplace of classical Khmer architecture.

Afternoon, excursion to visit Kampong Phluk Floating Village, takes a ride by traditional wooden boat on Tonle Sap Lake to experience the fishermen life. In the wet season, the Tonle Sap Lake is one of the largest freshwater lakes in Asia. Then back town if time permitted will see Artisans D’ Angkor and see their stone and wood carving workshops where the artisans are taught to use traditional Khmer techniques and continue visiting the Old Market where you can see the fresh local produce being sold as well as browse the souvenir stalls. 

DAY 12 SIEM REAP DEPARTURE (B)

Breakfast at hotel then rest till time pick up by driver to Siem Reap airport for departure to next destination.
